"I had lost about 2 stone through diet over a period of about a year but then I hit a plateau and didn’t see any further changes to my weight or shape for a few months. I joined a gym but three months in I still hadn’t seen any major changes. I was beginning to lose heart when I met George and started working with him. We started training once a week and George wrote a program for the other times I was in the gym and within just a couple of weeks I was already starting to see the difference.
"Every session has been different which for me is part of the appeal, as you turn up to the session never knowing what to expect! Through the week I am mum, wife, cleaner, gardener and cook but my time in the gym is the time I spend as just Hazel. I look and feel fitter than I did 20 years ago, have more energy and have run 10k races which is something I never thought I would be able to do."
"When I joined the gym I met George and signed up to regular personal training sessions. I told George that I was tired of waking up in the morning feeling as though I was 80 (I’m only in my 40s!); aching back, stiff neck, sore joints etc. We spent the first 3 weeks working through a series of mobility exercises and within a short space of time I was feeling much more human again.
"I also had a lot of weight to lose, and George challenged me to run the Reading Half Marathon in 9 months time. We set out a program (I could only run for about 30 seconds to begin with) and George continually set me goals along the way. I would achieve a target, he’d say “well done Rob”, then set me another one straight away! This kept me highly motivated and in 9 months I lost nearly 3 stone and completed the half marathon in just over 2 hours."
"Having just finished my first four weeks training with George I can only say Wow!!! Absolutely fantastic!! At my initial meeting with George we chatted about my goals, what I wanted to achieve and George went away and planned how we were going to do it. The first session was assessing fitness levels, body fat, blood pressure etc.
George also suggested an elimination diet as one of my goals was to loose weight. Here we are four weeks later, I have lost a stone in weight, totally changed my way of eating and I feel a new woman. Thats not bad when you are 51, i have entered the 2010 Reading Half marathon and The London Moonwalk and I know I will enjoy them not just endure them.
All that’s left for me to say is a huge THANKYOU to George, and with his continuing support I know my goals are achievable in reality and not just in my dreams"
"I have had several trainers in the past but George is the first one to actually come to a session prepared with the workout clearly outlined on a piece of paper. As a former teacher I appreciate this level of planning and it has paid off with the results I have achieved. I retired last year and took up golf but like many novices found it hard to hit the ball properly. I had had a couple of lessons from a pro but it was only when George took me through a golf conditioning program that I started to realise the benefits of core stability and flexibility.
"Apart from the golf the biggest improvement I have noticed is now being able to get comfortably out of a sports car, something that my friends used meet with derisive laughter as I used to struggle to extract myself from the low seats!"
"My wife bought me a block of personal training sessions for Christmas a couple of years ago and I must admit I was very sceptical at first. I have never been a fan of exercising for the sake of it, preferring to play a game of squash, football or golf. I went along for the first session and never looked back. Over the last 18 months I have been training with George he has invented games that challenge me physically and also appeal to my competitive nature. He often works out with me and we compete against each other. As George is also very competitive he has never let me beat him, so when I win a point off him I know I have earned it!
"Although many of our sessions take place in a large gym, George has never once put me on a machine or piece of cardio kit. Everything we have done has involved the whole body and he is able to explain why we are doing which ever crazy exercise he has come up with this week"
